Privacy Policy
for Play Polarix
Effective Date: January 2, 2026
Last Updated: January 2, 2026
Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how Play Polarix (the "App") handles your information. Play Polarix is a puzzle game for iOS developed by Banana Pancakes s.r.o., located at Na Pomezí 910/2, Praha 5, 158 00, Czech Republic. We are committed to protecting your privacy and complying with applicable laws like the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). In short, we do not collect or store any personal data from you through this App. There is no account registration required to use the game, and the game is intended for a general audience. However, the App does integrate certain third-party services (for advertising and game features) which may process limited data as described below.
By using Play Polarix, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App. If you have any questions, you can contact us using the details at the end of this document.
No Personal Data Collected by Us
No direct collection: We, the developers of Play Polarix, do not collect, store, or process any personal information from you through the App. We do not require you to create an account, provide your name, email, phone number, or any other personally identifying information to play the game. The game is played offline and has no backend servers that receive your data. All game progress (levels completed, scores, preferences) is stored on your device and is not transmitted to our servers.
Game data and cloud services: The only time game-related data leaves your device is when using platform services provided by Apple (such as Game Center for leaderboards/achievements). Even in those cases, the data (e.g. your high scores or achievements) is sent to Apple's services, not to us. We do not receive or store that information on our own servers. For example, if you choose to sign in to Apple Game Center (described more below), your nickname and scores may be shared within Game Center, but we as the app developer do not collect that personal data ourselves.
No analytics or tracking: We do not use any analytics SDKs or tracking tools in the App. There is no third-party analytics service, and we do not collect advertising identifiers or other identifiers for our own purposes. Aside from the advertising and gaming services described in the next sections, the App does not transmit any information to us or to any other servers.
Advertising (Google AdMob)
To keep Play Polarix free, we display advertisements via Google AdMob. AdMob is a third-party advertising platform provided by Google. AdMob may collect and use certain data from your device through its SDK (software development kit) integrated in the App. This data collection is handled automatically by AdMob when ads are shown, and it is used for displaying and targeting ads. Below is what you need to know about AdMob's data practices in our App:
- Data Collected by AdMob: AdMob may collect device information and identifiers such as your device's Advertising Identifier (Apple's Identifier for Advertisers, "IDFA"), and possibly other device identifiers. It also collects your device's IP address, which may be used to infer your general location for ad targeting (e.g. country or region). Additionally, AdMob gathers information about your interactions with ads and the app, such as ad impressions, clicks, and app usage data related to advertising. AdMob may also collect technical information like device type, OS version, and diagnostic data (e.g. crash reports related to the ads SDK) to ensure ads function properly. No personal information like your name, address, or contact info is collected by AdMob through our App. However, some of the data AdMob collects (such as device IDs or IP addresses) may be considered personal data under laws like the GDPR.
- Use of Data by AdMob: The information collected by AdMob is used to serve you ads and improve ad quality. This can include personalized advertising, where ads are tailored to be more relevant to you based on your device data and inferred interests. For example, AdMob (and its advertising partners) might use your device's advertising ID to track that you play puzzle games and show ads related to games. AdMob also uses collected data for analytics and fraud prevention (to prevent fake clicks, ensure the same ad isn't shown too often, etc.). All data sent to AdMob is transmitted securely (encrypted via HTTPS/TLS).
- Third-Party Data Sharing: Data collected via AdMob may be shared with Google's advertising partners and advertisers to facilitate the bidding and display of ads. This means third-party ad networks or advertisers that work with AdMob could receive some of your device information for delivering their ads. We do not directly share any data with these third parties—any sharing is done by Google AdMob as part of the ad-serving process. Google's Privacy Policy and AdMob's policies govern how they use and share this data. We encourage you to review Google's Privacy Policy for more details on their data practices.
- Personalized Ads and Consent: If you are in the European Economic Area (EEA), United Kingdom, or other regions with privacy regulations, you will typically be shown non-personalized ads by default unless you explicitly consent to personalized ads. Non-personalized ads are still contextual (based on the content of the app, not your profile) and use the data only for broad targeting (e.g., location at city or country level) and fraud/security. If our App at any point asks for your consent to allow personalized advertising, you have the choice to accept or decline. Even if you decline, you will still see ads, but they will be generic and not based on personal profiling.
- COPPA and Children's Ads: Play Polarix is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly show personalized ads to users under 13 years of age. We have configured AdMob in compliance with COPPA such that if we have any reason to believe a user is under 13, the ads should be non-personalized (no behavioral targeting). No interest-based advertising is served to children to the best of our knowledge, in accordance with COPPA's requirements that prohibit behavioral advertising to kids. (See "Children's Privacy" below for more information.)
- Opt-Out of Personalized Advertising: You have choices to control advertising. If you prefer not to receive interest-based (personalized) ads from AdMob:
- On iOS devices, you can limit ad tracking by enabling the "Limit Ad Tracking" or "Allow Apps to Request to Track" setting in your device's privacy settings. You can also reset your device's advertising identifier (IDFA) periodically. This will inform AdMob and other networks to not use your info for targeted ads.
- You can visit Google's Ads Settings webpage to opt out of personalized ads in apps and on the web (if you have a Google account or your device is linked). Google's Ad Settings tool lets you control ad personalization for your Google ad profile.
- For a more general opt-out of interest-based ads from many advertising companies, you can visit the Network Advertising Initiative's opt-out page or DAA (Digital Advertising Alliance) choices page. These industry sites allow you to opt out of targeted ads from participating companies.
Keep in mind that opting out of personalized ads does not remove ads – you will continue to see ads, but they may be less relevant to your interests. You can also choose to remove ads entirely by using the in-app purchase (see In-App Purchases below).
We want to be clear that advertising helps fund our game development, but your privacy is important. We do not receive or store the personal data that AdMob collects; however, we include this information in our Policy to be transparent and to comply with legal requirements to inform you about data collection by third parties on our App. For more details, please review Google's Privacy Policy and Google AdMob policies which explain how Google handles information in advertising.
Apple Game Center (Optional Feature)
Play Polarix integrates with Apple's Game Center to provide optional social gaming features such as leaderboards and achievements. Using Game Center is completely optional – you can play the game in its entirety without signing into Game Center. However, if you choose to use these features, please note the following:
- Game Center Data: If you sign in to Game Center on your device and authorize our App, Apple may collect and process certain information related to your gameplay. This can include your Game Center nickname, avatar, high scores, achievements, and gameplay activity (for example, completing a level or achieving a score could be reported to Game Center). This data is managed by Apple and is associated with your Apple ID/Game Center account, not by us. We (the developer) do not receive any of your Apple account information or any personally identifiable information through Game Center. We only have access to the minimal information Apple provides for the features to work – for example, the leaderboard might show us your chosen nickname and score. We do not have access to your real name or any contact details from Game Center.
- No Storage on Our Servers: Any Game Center related data (such as your scores, rankings, or achievements) is stored on Apple's servers and not on our servers. We do not collect or store this information ourselves. The Game Center service is governed by Apple's own privacy policy and terms. According to Apple, your Game Center activity and data are used by Apple to operate the service (e.g., to display leaderboards, match you with friends, etc.) and are subject to Apple's Games Center & Privacy policies.
- Privacy and Control: You have control over Game Center participation. If you do not want Game Center to publish your game achievements or if you wish to disable it, you can sign out of Game Center or adjust your Game Center privacy settings on your Apple device. You may also use an alias (nickname) in Game Center instead of your real name if you are concerned about privacy — Apple allows that by setting your Game Center profile accordingly. If you are signed in, other players might see your alias on leaderboards or if the game implements any friend challenge features. No other personal information is shared via the App.
- Apple's Privacy Policy: Use of Game Center features is subject to Apple's Privacy Policy. We encourage you to review Apple's Games & Privacy statement to understand how Apple uses Game Center data. In summary, Apple may combine your gameplay information with other data (like App Store data) to personalize your gaming experience, but those processes are entirely under Apple's control. We simply enable the integration for your convenience. If you have privacy questions or requests regarding your Game Center data, you may need to contact Apple, since we do not control that data.
By using Game Center, you also agree to Apple's Game Center terms. If you prefer not to share any data with Game Center, you can simply decline to sign in when prompted, or sign out in your device Settings at any time.
In-App Purchases
The App offers an optional in-app purchase – specifically, you may purchase a one-time upgrade to remove ads. If you choose to make this purchase, please note:
- Purchase Processing: All in-app purchases in Play Polarix are handled through Apple's App Store/iTunes payment system. This means the financial transaction and payment information (such as your credit card number, Apple account details, billing address, etc.) are collected and processed by Apple, not by us. We do not have access to your payment card details or any financial information. Apple may share with us only the information necessary to deliver the in-app item (for example, confirmation that you made the purchase so the app can disable ads). This information is typically limited to a transaction identifier and confirmation of purchase – it does not include any of your personal payment data.
- No Personal Data from Purchases: Aside from knowing that you have purchased the "Remove Ads" upgrade (which is stored as an entitlement in the app), we do not receive personal data when you make a purchase. We do not collect your name or contact info even for purchase receipts – all of that is managed by Apple. Apple may send you a receipt via email or make purchase history available to you, but we do not send any emails or receipts directly.
- Refunds and Queries: If you have questions about payments, refunds, or suspect any issue with a purchase, you may need to contact Apple Support, as they manage the billing. However, you can also reach out to us and we will try to assist or guide you in resolving the issue within the scope of what we can do.
For more details on how Apple handles your data for in-app purchases, consult Apple's privacy policy and the App Store terms and conditions. Our role in the purchase process is simply to mark the "ads removed" status in the app once Apple confirms your payment.
Children's Privacy
We take children's privacy seriously. While Play Polarix is a general audience game and is not specifically directed at children, it is possible that children under the age of 13 may play the game. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children under 13 in compliance with the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and similar international laws. In fact, as noted above, we do not collect personal data from any users of the App.
Key points regarding children's data and COPPA:
- No personal data collected: The App does not ask for a child's name, email, or any contact info. There is no in-game chat or way for a child to publicly post information within the App. We have designed the game to minimize data collection overall.
- Advertising to children: We have made efforts to ensure that if the game is used by children, the advertising shown is appropriate and not behaviorally targeted. Specifically, we have disabled personalized ads for underage users. AdMob is informed that our app is not to show personalized ads to children. The ads may be contextual or based on app content (for example, advertising other puzzle or cartoon games) rather than based on tracking a child's behavior. We do not knowingly permit interest-based advertising profiles to be created for children under 13.
- Parental supervision: We encourage parents and guardians to be aware of what apps their children are using. If you are under 13, please do not provide any personal information and do not make any purchase without parental permission. In-app purchases (like removing ads) are protected by Apple (usually via password or biometric confirmation), which provides a layer of parental control for spending.
- Parental rights: If you are a parent or guardian and you believe that we might have inadvertently received personal information about your child (for example, if a child contacted us for support and provided their email address or name), please contact us immediately. We will promptly delete any such information and cease any further collection or use of the child's information. Parents have the right to review and delete personal information of their children, if any were collected. Again, to our knowledge we do not collect any, but we will assist you to ensure your child's privacy is protected.
- Not intended for under 13: For compliance purposes, we reiterate that our services and the App are not intended for children under the age of 13. If you are under 13, you should only use this App with the involvement of a parent or guardian. We do not condition participation in any game feature on disclosing more personal data than is reasonably necessary.
By ensuring we collect no data and by restricting ads, we believe we are in compliance with COPPA's requirements for apps that are not directed at children but may be used by them. If you have any concerns about your child's use of the App, please contact us (see Contact Us below).
Your Privacy Rights and Choices
Depending on your jurisdiction (e.g., if you are in the European Union, certain U.S. states, etc.), you may have specific rights regarding your personal data. We are committed to respecting those rights and providing you with control over your information, to the extent we handle any.
GDPR (EU/EEA users): Under the GDPR and applicable European data protection laws, individuals in the European Economic Area (EEA) and equivalent jurisdictions have certain rights concerning their personal data. These include:
- Right to Be Informed: You have the right to know what personal data is collected, for what purposes, and with whom it is shared. We fulfill this through this Privacy Policy (and we've explained that we do not collect personal data ourselves, while third parties like AdMob might collect certain data).
- Right of Access: You can request that we confirm if we have any personal data about you, and you can request a copy of that data. (In our case, we do not have user data on our servers. If you were to request data, we would likely inform you that we hold none, and direct you to relevant third parties like Apple or Google if needed.)
- Right to Rectification: If you believe any information we have about you is incorrect or incomplete, you have the right to ask us to correct it. (Again, we do not maintain user profiles, but if, for example, you contacted us and provided info, you can request correction.)
- Right to Erasure: You have the right to request deletion of your personal data ("right to be forgotten"). Since we do not store personal data about you, there is nothing on our side to erase. For data held by third-party providers (AdMob, Game Center), you may need to contact them or use provided mechanisms (for instance, resetting your Advertising ID effectively "erases" the link between past data and your device). If we can assist in forwarding a deletion request to any partner, we will do so.
- Right to Object/Restrict Processing: You can object to or ask us to restrict processing of your data in certain circumstances. For example, you can object to your data being used for marketing/ads. In practice, you can use the opt-outs for advertising noted above to exercise this right.
- Right to Data Portability: If we had any of your personal data, you could request it in a portable format. (We do not have such data, but for completeness we note this right.)
- Right to Withdraw Consent: If we rely on your consent to process data (such as consent for personalized ads), you can withdraw that consent at any time. Withdrawing consent will not affect the lawfulness of processing before the withdrawal. In our context, you can withdraw consent for personalized ads by changing your preferences (as described in Advertising section) – after which AdMob should stop personalized data processing for you.
To exercise any of these rights, you can contact us at our contact details below. We may need to verify your identity to process certain requests (for example, to ensure it's actually you making the request). We will respond to your inquiry within the timeframe required by law. Note that because we intentionally collect minimal data, we may have limited ability to fulfill certain requests (for instance, we cannot provide data we never collected, and we cannot delete data on Apple's or Google's systems – you would need to contact them, but we will help guide you).
California/CPRA (California residents): While our App does not collect personal information, if you are a California resident you are entitled to certain disclosures and rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA). We do not sell personal information. If these laws apply to any data processing via our App, your rights (to know, access, delete, opt-out of sale/sharing, and non-discrimination) are essentially equivalent to the rights described above. You may contact us to inquire about any personal information to which these rights might pertain. (Again, as we do not collect data directly, we generally will have none to provide or delete.)
Opt-Out Choices: In addition to the rights above, we reiterate some choices you have in using our App:
- Advertising: You can opt out of personalized ads (as detailed in the Advertising section) using device settings or online tools. You can also remove ads entirely by purchasing the ad-removal one-time IAP, after which AdMob will no longer load ads.
- Game Center: You may log out of or disable Game Center if you do not want any Game Center data shared. On your Apple device, go to Settings > Game Center and you can sign out or toggle off features. You can also control how your Game Center profile is shared (for example, you can make your profile viewable only by friends or private).
- Do Not Track: Because we do not have tracking in the app beyond the advertising which is controlled separately, a "Do Not Track" signal is not directly applicable. However, if your device has a "Limit Ad Tracking" option and you enable it, our advertising SDK (AdMob) respects that by not using your data for targeted ads.
If you have any questions about your privacy rights or how to exercise them, you can always reach out to us.
Data Security
We understand the importance of securing your information. While we do not collect personal data on our own servers, we still implement reasonable measures to protect the data and communications that occur within the App. For example, the connections to third-party services (like AdMob ad requests or Game Center communications) are encrypted. AdMob's SDK encrypts data in transit, and Apple's Game Center uses secure protocols as part of iOS. We keep the app updated and follow Apple's security guidelines to prevent unauthorized access or vulnerabilities.
On your device, any local data (such as game progress) is stored in the app's sandboxed storage. We encourage you to keep your device secure (use a passcode/Touch ID/Face ID) to protect any data on the device itself.
Since we do not manage a server or database of user information, risks of data breaches on our side are minimal. In the unlikely event that we ever become aware of a security incident affecting personal data, we would notify users and authorities as required by law.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update or change this Privacy Policy from time to time, for example to reflect new features in the App, changes in legal requirements, or changes in our business practices. When we update the policy, we will change the "Last Updated" date at the top. If the changes are significant, we may also notify you by additional means – for instance, by posting a notice on our website (https://playpolarix.com) or within the app itself. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically to stay informed about how we are protecting your information.
Your continued use of Play Polarix after any changes to this Policy will signify your acceptance of the revised terms (to the extent permitted by law). If you do not agree to any changes, you should stop using the App and can contact us with any concerns.
Contact Us
If you have any questions, concerns, or requests regarding this Privacy Policy or your personal data, please feel free to contact us. We are the data controller for any personal data processed by the App (though, as noted, we process essentially none). You can reach us at:
